Earthworks

Preparing a stable, level foundation is crucial in preventing waterlogging, ensuring durability and playability. We will ensure the correct soil is prepared for if opting for a natural grass court to help with healthy root zones, followed by a topsoil application to support the growth.

Turf preparation and planting

Grass selection is very important as depending on your area and climate, different species can be more suitable. Perennial rye grass is the most commonly used grass for tennis and most sports due to its hard-wearing nature. Natural grass courts will need to be seeded and watered regularly.

How do you maintain a tennis court?

We can provide a 12-month strategy and maintenance team following the completion of the project. We will ensure the courts are withstanding any seasonal wear and tear, all year round. We can provide training for grounds teams to enable you to continue the maintenance strategy long after we have left. Being part of STRI Group, we have on hand expert agronomists who will be able to provide support and guidance on any turf related questions.

Ongoing maintenance includes:

  • Natural turf management: Watering, mowing, rolling, weed and pest control
  • Artificial turf management: Regular cleaning, including removal of leaves and debris and brushing to ensure the turf fibres remain upright and evenly distributed.

Please reach out and speak to us about our sports maintenance options.
