With the right attention to detail and care, we construct cricket pitches which are durable and high-performing for many years of professional play, and those playing for fun.
Choose a flat, open area that’s large enough for a standard cricket ground. Typically, a cricket pitch is placed in the centre of the field, and the pitch dimensions should be aligned with the overall ground size and ideally run north to south.
We will excavate and level out the area for the foundation of the pitch. This involves clearing rocks, vegetation and other debris and creating a depth of 4-6 inches depending on the soil type used. Once complete, this prepares the sub-base for effective drainage.
This is necessary to avoid waterlogging which disrupts play and impacts the safety of the players.

The top layer of the pitch is critical for the behaviour of the ball. This layer is designed to be firm but with sufficient give to allow consistent bounce. Depending on your choice of turf and environment, this will affect what topsoil is chosen for your ground.
We can provide a 12-month strategy and maintenance team following the completion of the project. We will ensure the pitches are withstanding any seasonal wear and tear, all year round. We can provide training for grounds teams to enable you to continue the maintenance strategy long after we have left.
